With iPods and internet radio, traditional radio might be a dying medium just like news papers.

I too have shifted huge amounts of my NPR listening to podcasts, but it's had the opposite effect on my donations. I now contribute to FIVE NPR stations: WNYC (on the media), WBZ (This American Life), KCRW (Morning Becomes Eclectic) and WBUR and WGBH because they're local and because of On Point, The World, etc.

It's only a matter of time before we have a way to donate to podcasts we like, but what will support the stations that don't produce national content? I would love to see them get more newsy and more local, and linking to stuff like local blogs.

Yeh, maybe. But I don't hear any commercials on the satellite music channels. Don't hear any on the podcasts (yet).

The public has a VERY high tolerance for advertising, perhaps even a complete disregard for it.

Well you've certainly done your part to kill it. Now you get to pay, and still hear the same annoying commercials... yay.

Kill your TV.
